Special Event Permit

Persons organizing events in Stowe with over 300 expected attendees or participants are required to file an application for a Special Event Permit with the Town of Stowe. All special events are subject to Selectboard approval at a regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting.

Events with over 2,000 expected attendees or participants are also required to file an application for a Commercial Assembly Permit with the Vermont State Police, after official approval by the Stowe Selectboard.

Special Event Police Coverage

Event organizers are required to notify the Stowe Chief of Police (Don Hull - dhull@stowevt.gov) of their event application prior to its submission to the Assistant Town Manager. The Chief of Police will determine whether a police coverage is necessary for the event and will work with event organizers to complete a police agreement, if needed. If the Chief of Police determines that police coverage is not necessary, please include written confirmation along with the application.

Field Use Application

Persons applying for events taking place on Town of Stowe athletic fields are also required to submit a Field Use Application form to the Stowe Parks & Recreation Department at recreation@townofstowevermont.org. Parks & Recreation staff will advise on the availability of the field(s) or facility requested.

Please submit completed special event applications, the $25 application fee, and all other necessary forms to Assistant Town Manager Will Fricke (wfricke@stowevt.gov, 802-253-7350) at the Akeley Memorial Building at 67 Main Street in Stowe. Application forms and fees can be dropped off in person, or can be emailed to wfricke@stowevt.gov.
